Job Description

Position Title: Supply Chain Analyst 
Rate: DOE - $68k to $73k/yr
Location: Moorpark, CA 93021
Contract to hire 

Requirements: 

  • Develop, maintain and control a realistic master production schedule by balancing customer requirements with manufacturing capacity and parts availability
  • Communicate forecast and production schedule changes to Master Planner and Supply Chain supervisor
  • Analyze potential impact of forecast and production schedule changes on component procurement and production volume
  • Ensure consistency between customer demand information and production build schedules
  • Collaborate with customers, operations and supply chain management to appropriately manage inventory levels and minimize obsolescence
  • Perform “What if” analyses to aid in optimal scheduling, priorities and decision making
  • Act as the key contact for analysis of new orders,  change orders and new change analysis from customers
  • Perform material and capacity analysis; Work with Scheduler to establish a production schedule for each order and communicate/resolve issues related to discrepancies between the requested and promised due date
  • Monitor inventory levels and planned order quantities at both the component and assembly level; Generate action plans to ensure that inventory levels are optimized and disposition excess inventory to support business objectives
  • Interface with customers, suppliers and internal resources for management of AVL choices and alternates in order to monitor or reduce product cost or inventory levels
  • Manage EOL and other assurance of supply issues and support Engineering changes and New Product Introduction
  • Participate on the Customer Team as the Supply Chain Department representative and support development of planning processes to support department, business unit and divisional goals
  • Conduct day-to-day business analysis supporting supply chain management
  • Assist the Account Managers in developing monthly sales forecasts; Update the forecast based on the planning process
  • Develop, document and manage customer specific planning systems such as Kanban, safety stock, knowledge based configuration systems, vendor managed inventory or other unique systems
  • Work directly with customers to gain an understanding of a customer’s planning system and how Benchmark and the customer’s processes interact
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the extended planning process in order to gain efficiencies in both Benchmark’s processes and the customer’s processes
  • Assist other team members as needed to ensure customer needs are met
  • Handle all tactical responsibilities associated with purchase orders and perform buying activity for local, regional and global purchasing initiatives
  • All employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure BEI meets, or exceeds Customer Satisfaction.   
  • Act as the key contact for analysis of new orders, change orders and net change analysis from customers
  • Participate on the Customer Team for large, complex accounts as the Supply Chain Department representative; Support development planning processes to support department, business unit and divisional goals
  • Assist the Supply Chain Supervisor, as needed, regarding development of advanced Planning processes
  • Develop decision support tools and financial models to analyze the cost/benefit tradeoffs of inventory changes
  • Train and educate supply chain analysts on supply chain strategies, inventory management strategies, analysis techniques and tool development
  • Act as lead buyer on initiatives, as assigned by commodity management
  • Drive initiatives, analyze critical items and develop and implement complex solutions to supply chain issues
  • Evaluate competitive offerings from suppliers to determine the overall best offer, technical analysis, operational analysis, cost/price analysis and make/buy analysis
  • Participate on commodity team(s) responsible for supplier management and develop effective plans for supplier improvement
  • Work with internal and external customers and/or other supply chain personnel to analyze and determine best supplier or service provider for the defined scope of work
  • Review data for accuracy and analyze the information in support of agreements
  • Contribute to cost reduction program by making viable business recommendations and process improvement ideas
  • Manage component throughput product life cycle (PLC)
  • Comply with commodity strategies as directed by commodity management
  • Participate and provide input to supplier score card reviews
  • Work with Supplier Development Engineering in the qualification of components, as required
  • Work with commodity management for component sourcing activities
  • Execute the tactical portion of component Stop Ship/Purge efforts

Requirements:

  • 4 year degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management
  • 5+ years in more  complex purchasing accounts/commodities
  • Advanced MRP/ERP knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of supplier contract maintenance and sourcing techniques
  • Skills in supply chain management and drive initiatives
  • Strong leadership skills and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively mentor coworkers
  • Ability to independently drive solutions to complex supply chain issues with limited supervision
  • Lead or participate in a continuous improvement activity with complete documentation, including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format
