Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs/wk, M-F, 8-5
Location: Main Clinic
Health Plan Services, Business Office

Job Summary/Position Objectives:
To provide prompt and accurate insurance billing, customer service relating to patient billing questions. 

Essential Functions: 

  1. Answer telephones prompt and courteously, identifying yourself and your department to the callers. Ability to forward callers appropriately, announcing your call to the receiver.
  2. Bill insurance type as assigned by the Director.
  3. Review private pay accounts for payment arrangements or for appropriate collection action.
  4. Review accounts for potential refunds.
  5. Cover front desk of the business office on a rotation basis.
  6. Work all insurance aged on a monthly basis, making appropriate transfers, contact the insurance company as necessary.
  7. Answer patient questions relating to their monthly statement.
  8. Verify and enter pertinent demographics, insurance coverage.
  9. Participates in departmental meeting, problem solving groups and in service educational opportunities on an ongoing basis.
  10. Serve as a mentor to new staff and students as assigned.
  11. Performs other duties as requested.

  9. Minimum 2 years experience in the business office with in the medical field

10.  Must be available to work flexible hours.

11.  Ability to handle cash and balance account receivable

12.  Ability to process daily accounts in “task manager."

Preferred Qualifications: 

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Knowledge of medical terminology.
