Sequel Youth and Family Services is a leading National Behavioral Health Care Provider that develops and operates programs for people with behavioral and emotional challenges.  Through a continuum of services, our staff provides education, counseling and supervision to individuals and families in their home community.

Our Florida Division is seeking an experienced and proficient Accounts Receivable Accounting Assistant to join our team in our Pinellas Park office.

Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable Accounting Assistant is responsible for all activities related to monitoring, resolving, and appealing insurance claim denials received from insurance carriers and Medicaid/Medicare.  This position is responsible for handling all correspondence related to an insurance or client account, contacting insurance carriers as needed to ensure payment on aging accounts are collected in a timely manner.   This position will coordinate with managers to address all payer objections by providing necessity of services. This position is also responsible for analyzing trends and communicating appeal decisions.

In addition to the above responsibilities, this position is responsible to post daily cash receipts into the accounting system and complete other AR tasks for the Controller. This position will cover for AP when needed.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, Associates or Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • At least two years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, collections or related field is required. 
  • Experience working with Medicaid and/or working in the medical field is preferred.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills are a must

  • Proven ability to multi-task and mange time effectively

  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
