Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform all necessary accounting functions of CARE Schools and Auldern Academy. Position requires extensive use of general ledger software, Excel, online banking and fixed asset accounting, along with firm knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and record in the GL all daily, weekly and monthly journal entries
  • Receive from the Billing Department all daily deposits and post to the GL
  • Update weekly cash source and use forecast
  • Reconcile balance sheet balances monthly and report
  • Record fixed asset activity and post monthly depreciation
  • Record monthly revenue recognition from Billing Department sources
  • Assist controller in analyzing accounts as needed
  • Book to the GL monthly expense accruals from AP sources
  • Assist controller in coding AP invoices
  • Maintain spreadsheets to support accruals and prepaids
  • Reconcile multiple bank statements
  • Input annual budget detail into the GL
  • Prepare financial information so that outside accountants can complete audits and tax returns
  • Coordinate with other program accountants on intercompany allocations
  • Prepare other projects for the controller as needed

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office GP (Great Plains).
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel.

Other Requirements

  • Preference will be given to individuals with multi location medical experience.
  • Must be able to work extended evening and weekends hours as needed.
  • Extensive experience with GL, AR, AP along with private/public payers.
