Program Overview:

Sequel Youth and Family Services is a privately owned company that develops and operates programs for people with behavioral, emotional, or physical challenges. Our mission is to prepare our clients to lead responsible and fulfilling lives by providing mentoring, education, and living support within a safe, structured, dynamic environment — whether on one of our campuses, in the community, or in their own homes. We are currently looking for a HR/Business Office Manager to support one of our residential programs located in Jacksonville, FL that is operated exclusively for the State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

Position Summary:

The Business Office Manager is responsible for providing broad support for the Facility Administrator primarily through performing detailed administrative functions and general employee management. This position will also assist the program with all federal, state and local laws as they pertain to the recruitment of personnel, background screenings & compliance and the administration of payroll/benefits.

Snapshot of Duties:

  • Direct and monitor accounting work including establishing new accounts, voucher preparation, coding, preparation of financial statements and working papers.
  • Oversee process and payment of accounts payable.
  • Responsible for accounts receivable, billing and related responsibilities.
  • Creating and maintaining office procedures for the facility.
  • Creating and maintaining files for the Facility Administrator.
  • Managing specific projects as assigned by the Facility Administrator and assisting in follow up on those employees working on such projects.
  • Compiling information and drafting memoranda regarding the day-to-day operation, problems and upcoming events pertaining to the facility.
  • Assisting with secretarial and clerical office functions when needed.
  • Control spending within budget areas of responsibility.
  • Manage all day-to-day aspects of the Human Resources function.
  • Ensure timely response to all candidates interested in employment opportunities.
  • Supervise the processing and administration of new employees and volunteers.  This includes ensuring that all proper and necessary paperwork is completed, and material is orderly and properly placed in personnel files.
  • Maintain payroll for all employees.

Typical Work Week:  Typically M-F eight:00 AM - 5:00 PM with additional evening and weekend hours as needed. 

Job Requirements: Associates degree preferred or a combination of education and experience.  Minimum one year experience working in a business office environment.
