Job Description

Northern Illinois Academy, a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility in Aurora, IL, serves youth ages 6-twenty one who have major mental health and/or developmental issues.  Our eight7 bed facility is accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services

Position Overview

We are currently looking for a full time Housekeeper who will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the residential units, administrative/common areas and the school.

Essential Job Duties

Maintains cleanliness of indoor areas including residential units, restrooms, offices, hallways, classrooms and dining area.  Cleans and sanitizes fixtures, floors, surfaces and walls; empties trash and restocks supplies.  Performs other duties as requested.

Education/Experience

High school graduate or equivalent. One year of cleaning experience; preferably in a health care setting.

Skills/Abilities         

  • Understands and observes all Safety Regulations as they pertain to equipment and chemical usage.
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Demonstrates a helpful attitude
  • Communicates effectively
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment
