Program Overview

Approximately 30 minutes north of Knoxville, Norris Academy is a residential treatment facility for children and youth ages 5 to 1eight diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.   Norris Academy has 43 licensed beds and serves youth from Tennessee as well as several other states.  The Autism Spectrum/Neuro-developmental Disorders Residential Treatment Program at Norris Academy is medically and clinically supervised by a Licensed, Board-Certified Psychiatrist who serves as the Medical Director of the program.  Each shift is staffed with a Registered Nurse 24-hours a day.

Position Overview

We are currently looking for a full-time  Housekeeper who will be primarily responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the residential units, administrative/common areas and the school.  Position to be filled immediately.

Essential Job Duties

Maintains cleanliness of indoor areas including residential units, restrooms, offices, hallways, classrooms and dining area.  Cleans and sanitizes fixtures, floors, surfaces and walls; empties trash and restocks supplies.  Performs other duties as requested.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least twenty one years of age.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Behavioral Science or closely related field preferred.
  • Good verbal and writing skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Must consistently exhibit mental and emotional ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
