Kitchen Cook

Prepare 3 meals a day, 7 days a week for the students and staff of Auldern Academy. Keep work environment clean and orderly, assist with the ordering and inventory of food as needed.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Clean and inspect galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
  • Prepare and serve healthy and varied food to facility residents, employees, or patrons.
  • Cook food according to menus, special dietary or nutritional needs, or numbers of portions to be served.
  • Clean, cut, and cook meat, fish, or poultry.
  • Monitor use of food commodities to ensure that proper procedures are followed.
  • Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment.
  • Compile and maintain records of food use and expenditures as assigned.
  • Direct activities of one or more student workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
  • Bake breads, rolls, and other pastries.
  • Take inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Work with others to keep kitchen orderly and clean.
  • Assist in the ordering, storing and inventory of food.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:  High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience:  No prior experience necessary

Computer Skills: Word processing

Certificates & Licenses: ServSafe Certification or be available to complete within 6 months of hire date (Paid by Auldern Academy).
