Job Description

Sequel Youth Services of Red Rock seeks a Photography Specialist.

Our residential treatment center helps each struggling teen in our care find the worth and value in themselves. We employ individuals dedicated to positively influencing these children in working through history of poor self-esteem, poor coping skills, lack of anger management skills, anger, depression, self-harm, drug/alcohol abuse, poor school performance, abuse/neglect, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direct and indirect instruction that promotes a positive learning environment.

• Create and maintain a class syllabus each term with the assistance and oversight of the Academic Director.

• Track assignments completed by each student and submit to the Academic Director on a weekly basis.

• Maintain accurate and complete academic records for each student every term as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations (i.e. attendance, grades, credits, report cards, academic work, etc.)

• Report monthly progress to treatment team on each student pertaining to their behavior, growth, goals, and improvement in regards to their Individual Education Plan (IEP), Student Education Plan (SEP), and/or treatment plan.

• Update parents, guardians, or social workers monthly on their student progress.

• Be prepared and participate in groups and program meetings (i.e. teacher meeting, parent teacher conference, parent weekend, etc.).

• Is a role model for students by teaching them socially acceptable behaviors by emanating care and concern. These socially acceptable behaviors may be determined by the students’ Individualized Education Plan (IEP), Student Education Plan (SEP), and/or treatment plan.

• Creates and maintains appropriate boundaries with students and team members to promote an atmosphere of safety where treatment can be facilitated.

• Work as part of a team to follow and support the Program Vision, Policies, and Procedures along with all student’s treatment plan implementations.

• Follows chain of command when communicating and planning for student’s and program.

• Will maintain professional conduct in dress, language, and actions.

• Maintain active certifications/tests in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/first aid, Safe Crisis Management (SCM), Tuberculosis (TB) test and to attend all other trainings required by Sequel and State Licensing.

• Use the certifications and trainings to model desired behaviors and outcomes. If need be prevent students from harming self, others, or in extreme cases property.

• Follow program daily schedule with outlined structure and deviate when circumstances dictate

• Turn in required documents by end of shift on students, team members, and/or self (i.e. Incident reports (IR), Statement of Facts (SOF), etc.).

• While on shift have a charged program-issued radio that is turned on to the proper channel.

• Promote a positive work environment with all team members by communicating effectively and efficiently information needed to assist the students with their treatment/program. This includes checking program issued e-mail on a regular basis to communicate important information in a timely manner.

• Follow direction of Treatment Team and direct supervisor when communicating with parents and outside entities working with the program.

• Reports all emergencies, crisis, and significant problems with student’s, facility, vehicles, or staffing to the appropriate individual’s (i.e. supervisor, program director, therapist, maintenance, etc.)

• Adheres to policies, procedures, and compliance standards as they appear in the Employee Handbook, Sequel Youth and Family Services Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan, HIPAA Compliance Policy and Procedure Manual, the Utah State Office of Licensing Code of Conduct and Client Rights, and other policies as they are presented and signed.

• Adheres to the policy and practices of creating, editing, transmission, storage, and disposal of all Protected Health Information (PHI).

• Performs other academic related duties as assigned.
