Job Description

Sequel Youth Services of Red Rock seek to hire Youth Mentors.

Our residential treatment center helps each struggling teen in our care find the worth and value in themselves. We employ individuals dedicated to positively influencing these children in working through history of poor self-esteem, poor coping skills, lack of anger management skills, anger, depression, self-harm, drug/alcohol abuse, poor school performance, abuse/neglect, etc.

Red Rock Canyon School is currently seeking to fill the position of Youth Mentor. Previous experience is helpful but not required. We are looking for outgoing individuals to help support our students through their daily schedules which include: Activities, Academics, Meal Times, and other regimens that happen daily. We are looking for energetic staff that are able to provide safety and security for recovering youth. Must be interested in mentoring and helping youth learn from current behavior and changing behavior into better alternatives. We are looking for people that are not only able to tell youth what to improve on but are willing to show them a good example to follow. Must be willing to work some weekends and some holidays. Must be at least twenty one years of age, pass a background check and pass a Drug test. Besides complete a TB screening.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a role model and display care and concern for students and co-workers by using the Positive Peer Culture (PPC) model.
  • Work as part of a team to follow and support the Program Vision, Policies, and Procedures along with all student’s treatment plan implementation.
  • Follow chain of command when communicating and planning for students and program
  • Will have professional conduct in dress, language, and actions.
  • Maintain active certifications/test in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/first aid, Safe Crisis Management (SCM), Positive Peer Culture (PPC), Suicide Prevention Training, Tuberculosis (TB) test and to attend all other trainings required by the state and treatment center.
  • Will be required to provide close proximity/eyesight supervision to maintain student’s safety at all times while working.

Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Pay starts at $11.00/hr
