Manages all general or cost accounting on a local level. Assures the accurate and timely preparation and reporting of results including necessary analyses and advice to aid in the identification or resolution of problem areas and in planning and decision making
Key Accountabilities
•Supervises and prepares monthly/quarterly and annual closings for in accordance with legal and company deadline regulations and guiding principles, within scope of responsibility.
•Ensures, supervises and monitors proper accounting for site specific sub-ledgers (e.g. accounts receivables, accounts payables, fixed asset accounting, GRIR)
•Prepares the Site annual budgeted income statement, cash flow and selected balance sheet information.
•Prepare the Site annual financial statements for the SGL Carbon Group in accordance with applicable accounting regulations and with group guidelines
•Takes corrective measures if deviation from budget occurs.
•Establishes medium-term planning (Income statement, working capital, cash flow) for the area of responsibility.
•Prepare monthly forecasts in accordance with the BU CFM NA deadline and guiding principles.
•Takes corrective measures if deviation from budget occurs.
•Takes care, maintains and updates the respective SAP modules in cooperation IS.
•Ensures properly cost accounting in line with corporate and local policies and guidelines for the area of responsibility
•Ensures and/or carries out the proper organization and completion of operative planning and medium-term planning as well as budget control within the supervised region, country and/or legal entity.
•Prepares, controls and analyses monthly results and reports to Management and Controlling.
•Carries out efficiency, annual standard price and/or model calculations and ongoing analyses variances.
•Prepares site Capital Authorizations for BU Approval as well as assists in any regional/global investment projects as required
•Ensures an orderly stock taking and valuation in line with corporate valuation procedures.
•Develops internal controls in accordance with the company’s goals and the group’s guidelines.
•Assists in the roll out of all newly approved International Financial Reporting standards as directed by Corporate or Regional Corporate office.
•Prepares all accounting requirements and reporting of government contracts in accordance with published government regulations and guidelines (FARs and DFARs)
•Assists with the preparation of proposals for both commercial and government customers
•Supports annual and audits, as requested by corporate office, with all relevant data and information.
•Supports tax audits including provision of relevant information.
•Assists in focusing cost reduction efforts.
•Responsible to ensure all staff are properly trained, directed and motivated to achieve and maintain accurate product standards, costing information and awareness for cost reduction opportunities.
•Responsible to implement the actions necessary to correct failures or shortcomings in the technical clarification process.
•Travel required.
