Job Description

This position has primary responsibility for leading the assessment, implementation and maturation activities associated with the Operational Management System at the site level. This position also has primary responsibility for the site’s continuous improvement program and the active deployment/utilization of the Lean Six Sigma Methodology.

Key Accountabilities

•Owner of the site OMS implementation plan and maturation plan.
•Resident expert in the OMS standard and associated tools and forms.
•Owner of the shop floor management system.
•Assists the Site Champion in identifying key opportunities for improvement and initiating new projects to close gaps.
•Maintain site project landscape.
•Champion and resident expert of Lean/Six Sigma methodology.
•Responsible for coaching and leading Green Belts to successful project completion.
•Identify and eliminate barriers that have the potential to slow or block project progress.
•Proactively seek Site Champion’s support to address barriers beyond his/her ability to influence.
• Keep Champion abreast of project status and activities to reduce opportunities for miscommunication.
•Teach, coach, and mentor Green Belts and other team members in project leadership and execution.
•Act as a Change Agent by continuously challenging the status quo.
•Keep Key Stakeholders abreast of the status and issues surrounding projects.
•Lead special/complex projects/task as defined by Director of Operations.

Job Requirements

•B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering.
•5 Years experience in an Industrial work environment.
•Minimum 2 Years Supervisory/Manager experience.
•Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects or tasks
•Proactive agent of change.
•Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
•Ability to develop structure in ambiguous environments.
•Ability to work through others to accomplish objectives.
•Proven track record of taking initiative, working well in a team environment
•Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
•Knowledge of statistical tools.
•Strong working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodology.
•Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools.
•Ability to clearly define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Work Environment

This position works in both an office environment and a noisy plant environment. The employee will regularly be working near moving mechanical parts and high temperature equipment, and may on occasion be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, heat or dangerous chemicals.
