Job Description

Performs various tasks connected with packing and shipping to ensure parts can be delivered to the customer undamaged. Position requires the use of tools such as nail guns, screw guns, tape measures, foaming equipment and powered saws. Employees perform basic math functions, data entry tasks to maintain accurate reporting. employees must be able to perform their assigned daily functions with minimal supervision. Due to the fluctuating demand in this position, employees may be assigned additional duties throughout the plant as needed.


Key Accountabilities

• Follows all safety procedures and works in a safe manner;
• Calculates box size from finished parts
• Builds skids and boxes;
• Packs finished parts per packing standards;
• Completes weight slips and ensures correct count;
• Uses all woodworking, air tools and packing equipment in the packing area;
• Operates all lifting devices;
• Passes fork truck training within first 30 days of employment


Job Requirements

• Read a tape measure within 1/8;”
• Basic knowledge of wood working equipment and carpentry skills;
• Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division);
• Computer literacy;
• Written and verbal communication skills. low-level decision making skills,
and ability to work well without close supervision.

Physical Demands

Standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, feel, talking and hearing are
necessary physical activity that take up over 2/3 of the day. 1/3 to 2/3 of the day is spent reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
There is no time spent sitting during the working hours of the day.
A weight of up to 10 and 25 pounds must be lifted over 2/3 part of the day.
A weight of up to 50 pounds must be lifted 1/3 to 2/3 of the day.
A weight of up to 100 pounds or more tha 100 pounds are lifted under 1/3 of the day.
Close vision (clear vision at 20” or less), distance vision( clear vision at 20 feet or more), depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This position is in a plant environment which involves working near moving mechanical parts and working around fumes or airborne particles for over 2/3 of the day.
Working in outdoor weather conditions and being exposed to the risk of electrical shock is required for under 1/3 of the day.
The noise level is loud (i.e. metal can manufacturing department, large earth-moving equipment)
