Job Description

This position develops and maintains an overall knowledge of the facility’s production processes and products, and evaluates the processes and products to make recommendations and improvements in quality, productivity, safety and costs. Supporting the development and implementation of new processes/products is also required.


Key Accountabilities

•Oversees, evaluates and recommends changes in the production processes to assure improved quality and increased production efficiency at the lowest controllable cost.
•Monitor processes to ensure that manufacturing specifications, Environmental and Health and Safety requirements and operating procedures are adhered to.
•Monitors equipment operation ensuring required maintenance tasks are carried out
•Assists the departmental manager and other personnel with technical advice and specification interpretation to assure quality production.
•Assists in troubleshooting problems and oversees implementation of corrective actions.
•Actively participates in EH&S, quality and continuous improvement programs (MOC, Safety Sweeps, ISO and Six Sigma).
•Supports development of new processes and products.


Job Requirements

•B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering.
•5 Years experience in an Industrial work environment.
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.


Preferred Qualifications

•Six Sigma, Lean training a plus.

This position requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment

This position works in both an office environment and a noisy plant environment. The employee will regularly be working near moving mechanical parts and high temperature equipment and may on occasion be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, heat or dangerous chemicals.
