Quality Engineer

Job Description

This position will support all quality activities and will assist with the implementation and continued maintenance of the Quality Management System.


Key Accountabilities

•Assist with implementation and maintenance of the AS 9100D / IATF 16949 Quality Management System
•Lead the team in problem resolution utilizing root cause analysis tools such as the 8D and 5 Why approach
•Manage and coordinate internal corrective / preventive actions process to ensure adequate root causes are identified, effective corrective actions implemented, and proper verification is completed prior to closure
•Manage the key suppliers in conjunction with purchasing in terms of quality performance
•Key quality representative for the implementation of the organization’s quality management software (QSYS)
•Collaborate with all levels and functions within the organization (Engineering, Production, etc.) to ensure effective implementation of the Quality Management System
•Provide expertise in quality related disciplines to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
•Manage the internal audit process and assist with proper closure of findings
•Analyze failures and defects, both internal and external, and facilitate problem solving sessions with cross functional team


Job Requirements

•Working knowledge of Minitab
•Experience working in automotive or aerospace manufacturing
•Experience working with carbon fiber and / or composites
•Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
•Certified Quality Engineer
•Excellent Technical Writing skills
•Experience in Lean Manufacturing


Preferred Qualifications

•Bachelors degree in Engineering / Science or other discipline from an accredited institute, or equivalent experience
•Minimum 2 years of quality engineering or related experience in a manufacturing environment
•Knowledge of statistics including Statistical Process Control (SPC) and hypothesis testing
•Working knowledge of MS office applications
•Internal auditing training and experience
•Prior work experience in an ISO9001, IATF16949 and or AS9100 environment
