Job Description

Manages all Cost accounting, General Ledger accounting, standard cost calculations, variance analysis, and budget performance on a local level. Assists in month end closing. Assures the accurate and timely preparation and reporting of results including necessary analyses and guidance to aid in the identification or resolution of problem areas and in planning and decision making.


Key Accountabilities

•Ensures proper cost accounting in line with corporate and local policies and guidelines for the area of responsibility.
•Supports Site Controller in the proper organization and completion of cooperative planning and medium-term planning as well as budge control for the site
•Assumes responsibility for month end closing process, including all GJE’s and coordinates with Corporate. Prepares controls and analyses monthly results and reports to Site Controller. Responsible for full P&L and Balance Sheet analysis.
•Supports quote activity by Sales for existing products by maintaining accurate cost models and prepares ad hoc cost calculations for newer products
•Special projects in the area of cost analysis: make/buy, analyses cost of processes (supports SGL X)
•Support Site Controller in preparation and maintenance of CAR’s and that require calculations.
•Prepares cost standards for inventory on an annual basis or as needed. Evaluates monthly variances to standard (work order variances, purchase price, etc.) and proposes corrective action as needed.
•Organizes local inventory control/auditing procedures and records, conducts orderly stock taking, and supervises the conduct of inventory reviews and valuation procedures.
•Takes care, maintain and updates the respective SAP modules working with IS.
•Assist Site Controller with special projects (continuous improvement, corporate initiatives, Cost correction projects, Six Sigma, etc.)
•Leads Groups and sits in as key user for SAP finance, controlling and projects modules function expert responsible for troubleshooting, training, documentation.


Job Requirements

• B.S. in Accounting required.
• Minimum of 5 years professional experience in manufacturing environment in the area of finance and accounting.
• Experience/knowledge regarding IAS and/or US GAAP.
Skills:
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization as well as with customers and regulatory agencies.
• Proficient in MS Office products with emphasis on EXCEL, PowerPoint and Word.
• Strong knowledge or background in ERP System Environment. SAP preferred.

Work Environment

This position works in both an office environment and a noisy plant environment. The employee will regularly be working near moving mechanical parts and high temperature equipment and may on occasion be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, heat or dangerous chemicals.
