WJAC-TV, in Johnstown, PA, is looking for an experienced Social Media Reporter for our weekday morning show. We need someone is an excellent storyteller! If you are a morning person with a great personality and strong storytelling skills, then this is a great opportunity for you! We want someone who has the energy and creativity to do compelling live shots for 2-4 hours of live morning news each weekday. You must be creative, a strong writer, a good communicator, possess great live skills, and have solid news judgement. You should also have the ability to go from light news to breaking news at any given time. Our Social Media Reporter is expected to turn packages for later newscasts and provide daily social media content. 

This position needs someone who is a true "go-getter." There will ample opportunities to go-live at events and locations and be a promotional talent for our news operation.

Job Requirements:

  • A high-level of experience with social media platforms, including but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
  • Must have a strong on-camera presence, while operating interactive equipment and graphics
  • Must have strong writing skills for all platforms (broadcast, print, and social media)
  • Able to compile reports on social media statistics and performance and present them in planning and strategy meetings
  • Learn and then teach staff the latest social media trends and best practices
