Job Description

SkillStorm is seeking an Application Architect (Excel SME) for one of our clients in Houston, TX.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Support multiple Excel-based Front Office applications to facilitate Client’s Commodities trading 
  • Participate in system design and implementation of new Excel applications.
  • Deploy and maintain systems as required by the business.
  • Provide Business facing support for AMRS Gas & Power Office teams

Skill Requirements:
Essentials

  • Proven experience developing complex Excel applications along with VBA and Macros 
  • Experience of working in a first or second line support environment
  • Advanced Relational Database Design concepts and RDBMS performance tuning experience
  • Comfortable working in high pressure environment where turnaround time is critical
  • Works to deadlines
  • Self-motivated, proactive, organized, assertive, and has good communication skills (written/oral)

Desired Skills:

  • Experience w/ MS SQL
  • Familiarity with Excel’s Real Time Data API as well as COM and/or Excel Add-ins
  • Experience liaising w/ Front Office traders
