Job Description

Summary

Position is part of the Product Service team.  The Display Module Engineer will work within cross-functional teams as well as individually on new processes, product development, continuous service products, and process improvements.  Position works with many teams including Development, Quality, Operations and Analytical. Position is responsible as the key engineering contact.  Also responsible as part of clean room operations supporting transfer of new products services.  The Display Module Engineer needs understanding of display products, downstream assembly, and the interactions between manufacturing and materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other Duties not listed may be assigned.

 Data Analysis/Communication/Issue Resolution – Prevention - % of Job – 80%

  • Creates solutions to technical problems.
  • Performs research and development as instructed by engineering manager.
  • Uses math and science skills to assist in development of improved processes and assembly/repair systems.
  • Participate in system requirements evaluation, analysis, and implementation.
  • Uses working knowledge of Six Sigma techniques, including root cause analysis, FMEA, experimental design, mechanical and statistical analysis
  • Operate in clean room based assembly processes including lamination, autoclaving and edge sealing.
  • Perform device reliability testing and analysis, including accelerated aging.
  • Function with external development teams and contact manufacturers.
  • Other duties as required

Warehouse Efficiencies – Cost Reduction - % of Job – 10%

  • Implements warehouse efficiencies and cost reduction programs to assist the company in making better merchandise flow decisions by conducting thorough analysis on key areas which cause product or delivery issues.
  • Builds and maintains a work environment that is positive and is supported by open feedback and two-way communication at all level

Team Leadership - % of Job – 10%

  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work environment while supporting the company’s culture.
  • Responsible for fostering a healthy and safe work environment, focusing on the well-being of all associates.
  • Maintains and strengthens internal, external customer and supplier relationships. Communicates and works with all business partners.
  • Ensures inventory management and allocation flows product through the warehouse in the most cost efficient and productive manner.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in mechanical or materials engineering is required.
  • Prefer 2 – 3 years of industrial engineering experience.
  • Must have experience in color display, printing, or the graphics and electronic industry.

 Working Condition

Must be able to tolerate moderate to high noise levels in a warehouse environment.  Office and outside environmental conditions found in the warehouse, hot in the summer, cold in the winter.  Individuals may need to walk for an extensive period of time while working and walking the facilities; to reach over shoulder heights; bend or stoop below the waist; repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
