Job Description

Work as an integral member of the 9Wants to Know investigative reporting team. This producer collaborates with other team members to work on producing compelling and impactful investigative stories by providing expertise in the data collection and analysis that turn an anecdotal story into a major investigation. 

Primary responsibilities are:

  • Enterprise investigative stories with the 9Wants to Know team that expose societal/systematic problems important to our community
  • Request public data and documents using federal, state and local open records laws
  • Analyze that data and find the story inside that data
  • Brainstorm ways to visualize a compelling and impactful story using that data for online, on TV and in social media platforms
  • Work with members of the team to fact check all reporting on all platforms prior to publication/air
