Job Description

WTOL 11, the TEGNA owned CBS affiliate in Toledo, OH, is looking for a Broadcast Director. This role is responsible for technical directing, calling, and manual switching of our live broadcasts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with producers and direct all technical aspects of live newscasts and other productions.
  • Manually switches video sources, graphical keys, monitor graphics and other aspects of news production.
  • Work closely with news staff to coordinate and improve production (e.g. shot books, formats, etc.)
  • Will also be required to staff other technical positions as needed, including camera, audio, and master control operator.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills are required. Coordination of technical staff in a fast paces live environment is the primary job function.
  • A certain amount of manual dexterity is required to manually switch.
  • Understanding of broadcast technology equipment highly desired.
  • Knowledge of AP-ENPS is helpful.
  • Knowledge of basic television broadcast terminology and methodology is helpful.
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change.
