Job Description

TEGNA owned KUSA-TV has an excellent opportunity for a talented Senior Producer to create content (live and/or recorded) for daily talk show “Colorado & Company,” and social media applications for the program. Oversee segment producers and construction/planning of the program.

  • Work in conjunction with EP to lead and support in the creative direction and vision for CO & CO
  • Construct daily show rundowns, and stacking/blocking of the program, as well as online applications
  • Books, writes and produces daily segments for CO & CO
  • Supervision of CO & CO segment producers including management of day-to-day schedules
  • Responsible for coordinating and execution of "live" reports or recorded packages as assigned.
  • Interfaces daily with various sales department personnel, as well as the liaison for sales as well as production personnel.
  • Helps manage and coordinate in studio guests and clients as well as assists in production during live program in the control room, on set or in the field.
  • Must be knowledgeable on advertising trends and popular culture.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Essential Daily Functions:

  • Work the hours based on your assigned scheduled. Scheduled hours may vary from time to time depending on assignments. In those cases your supervisor will notify you of changes.
  • Attend and sometimes lead daily CO & CO morning pre show meeting. Help manage and coordinate in studio guests and assist production crew during live program. Attend and sometimes lead daily post-show planning meetings.
  • Works closely with Executive Producer, talent and other segment producers on daily show content and production for on-air and online.
  • Responsible for coordinating and execution of "live" reports or taped packages as assigned.
  • Engage viewers through various social media channels through content creation, and supervision of other content creators.
  • Must be up to date on Denver happening and community interest stories.

Job Requirements

Experience:

  • College degree
  • Valid drivers license
  • Minimum 4-5 years producing experience in a television market
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure with assigned deadlines
  • Ability to interact productively and positively with fellow employees and direct their work as required
  • Should have television background, including experience with remote camera (ex: TVU/LIVE U)
  • Should have good communications skills on and off the air
  • Ability to operate a variety of production software such as Photoshop and Adobe Creative Cloud a plus
  • Should have a solid understanding of on-air production techniques in the control room and studio, as well as in the field.
  • Must have excellent verbal and writing abilities: will conduct phone interviews and face-to-face pre interviews with guests
  • Comprehensive understanding of social media
