Job Description

Daily Blast Live is in search of a Social Media Manager who will act as the key strategic lead for all efforts across Daily Blast Live’s social media platforms totaling nearly 1m total followers. With the support of the cross-functional digital team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of social media strategies, editorial calendars, reporting, and tactical plans for Instagram, Facebook Watch and the Facebook page. 

 

Responsibilities Include, but aren’t limited to…

  • 7AM, 12N, 6PM Facebook story, Instagram Story, Snapchat Story post
  • Select a viral video from our AP contract and edit into 3-minute piece
  • Must communicate with the TEGNA central content team and communicate when certain posts are available for cross-posting daily
  • Update Facebook Playlists
  • Answer messages in Facebook messenger
  • Reply to Instagram DM’s
  • Craft Instagram and Facebook posts in a consistent and creative brand voice. Hashtag and tag properly
  • Schedule daily posts to Instagram
  • Occasionally Re-gram demo-friendly Instagram accounts
  • Edit down clips/compress clips down for Instagram format
  • Generate original short form content for IGTV
  • Report daily interaction for Instagram, Insta Stories (before they expire)
  • Schedule live streams to Facebook and Facebook Watch
  • Reach out to Instagram influencers who may want to share our content in exchange for cash or trade out
  • Curate and reach out to Facebook Groups who may be interested in sharing segments that speak to their followers
  • The big picture KPI goals are to build upon platform likes and interaction month to month and year over year.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to edit video and graphics using Adobe Suite.
  • Must have strong journalistic editorial and creative writing skills.
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills and be a pro-active problem solver.
  • Must be willing to learn new skills and embrace new technologies.
  • Time management skill are key.
  • The ideal candidate is currently a social strategist at an advertising/social media agency or digital journalist with broadcast news experience.
