We need someone who can harness the energy and excitement of the exploding Atlanta film and entertainment scene and take it straight to the viewer through television and social media.

Telling the stories around one of the most vibrant and visually creative industries in the world requires someone with their own brand of creativity and a special skill set. We need someone who is comfortable with shooting, editing, and creating engaging content on web and social media too, and who can launch and maintain social media channels tied to this project. WXIA-TV, a TEGNA owned company, and the NBC affiliate in Atlanta, GA, has an immediate opening for an experienced, energetic Multi-Platform Producer for the A-Scene. The candidate must possess excellent communication and organizational skills; must work well under pressure, within a team environment and have the ability, desire, and passion to create new ways to tell exciting and engaging stories on-line and on-air too.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Research film shoots, casting calls, and entertainment resources to share with viewers and generate into stories online and across social media.
  • Maintain a current, engaging, and vibrant A-Scene web and social presence. This includes, but is not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and any other emerging social platforms.
  • Create platform-specific videos for the above-mentioned social sites.
  • Shoot and Edit entertainment news and feature stories, voiceovers, teases, and other video elements for live shows and pre-taped specials as needed.
  • Gather professional video and audio when necessary.
  • Perform other duties in audio and video production as assigned.
  • Ability to multi-task, handling editing assignments, assisting in finding and setting up stories, while constantly monitoring quality control.   
  • Interact with social fans and encourage/solicit UGC for use on-line and on-air

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • College degree with at least 2 years of newsroom experience.
  • Non-linear editing experience; knowledge of Edius a plus.
  • Strong writing skills for social media and online. You need to be able to speak to the language!
  • Ability to analyze online and social media metrics to make data-based decisions about what content to produce
  • Adobe Suite experience a plus, especially Photoshop & After Effects
  • Ability to work under time pressure deadlines; ability to multitask and prioritize multiple needs simultaneously
  • Ability to determine good audio and picture quality; ability to edit with continuity and creativity on non-linear systems.
  • Must be team oriented, have a positive attitude, possess good computer skills and strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift, including holidays, evenings, mornings, weekends and occasional overtime.
