Job Description

KVUE in Austin is looking for an Executive Producer for a new innovative 10 p.m. newscast.

 

This person must be a creative, experienced, and motivational leader. If you are a visionary who can successfully identify great, impactful content and develop a roadmap to meet KVUE’s goals, this job is for you!

 

The Executive Producer of Innovative Content will:

  • Lead the 10 p.m. team toward a uniquely interesting late newscast designed to appeal to today’s news consumer.
  • Leverage social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content on all platforms each afternoon and evening.
  • Work with the digital desk to identify and assign content appropriately for each platform.
  • Encourage innovation, risk-taking and powerful storytelling in crafting great newscasts.
  • Inspire enterprise stories and coordinate special coverage with news leadership team.
  • Oversee multiple newscasts to ensure the brand promise and strategies are met.
  • Regularly critique newscasts with the staff, both as a team and with individual producers.
  • Identify daily opportunities to have our news get noticed and reach new audiences.
  • Challenge the norm.
  • Help create a multi-platform experience.
  • Work collaboratively with other managers and perform tasks as required by the News Director.

Job Requirements

  • Experience successfully leading teams through content transformation
  • Strong understanding of the tenets of professional journalism
  • Knowledge of ENPS, Edius, photojournalism, editing, and content management systems a plus.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time-sensitive deadlines.
  • BA/BS in journalism, communications or related a plus.
