Job Description

Major responsibilities include performing financial analyses to make business recommendations that increase sales, improve efficiency and increase profitability of TEGNA’s digital business.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the monthly and weekly financial forecast and supporting the annual budget process.  This role is also responsible for understanding the data, systems, and reports needed to drive the business.​

Responsibilities:

  • ​​Support the digital annual budget process through modeling of key business drivers for both revenue and expenses.
  • Prepare the weekly and monthly forecast for all digital products.  Manage communication with all internal and external customers of the forecast.
  • Provide analysis of monthly results and summarize these results for senior executives
  • Support the month-end close process for TMS Phoenix through variance analysis and journal entry support as needed.
  • Provides insights for both internal and external clients on revenue trends and performance
  • Ability to extract, organize, analyze, and report data in a manner that is useful and relevant to the business.  Performs ad-hoc analysis as needed.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.​



Job Requirements

 Here's what you need:

  • ​​Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or an applicable analytical field of study.
  • 2 to 5 years of analytical experience in a finance role, operations or any related analytical role.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and strong modeling skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to effectively solve problems and address opportunities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, goal oriented and results focused, and the ability to process transactions while meeting tight deadlines
  • Maintain a professional presence with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Tableau, WideOrbit and Salesforce desired.​
