Great Day Houston Account Executive

KHOU 11 is looking for a highly organized and results driven individual to join our sales team as a Great Day Houston Account Executive. This position will serve as the primary liaison between the Sales Department and Great Day Houston, KHOU 11’s morning lifestyle show. The role will be responsible for scheduling all sponsored content on Great Day Houston with sales account executives, while also generating incremental revenue for the show through sponsored segment sales tied to an individualized budget and plan. In this hybrid function, the Great Day Houston Account Executive will work with the Sales Marketing team and Great Day Houston producers to uncover untapped verticals and identify new sponsorable content opportunities within the show. The ideal candidate will be a natural multi-tasker with a dynamic personality that enjoys working individually and in collaborative scenarios. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect new sales leads across a variety of verticals and qualify call-in inquiries.   
  • Build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Utilize sales department CRM (Salesforce) to review leads and manage/log new sales opportunities. 
  • Utilize project management tool (Smartsheet) to coordinate dates and communicate segment availability with account executives.   
  • Attend Great Day Houston planning meetings and pitch meetings to review upcoming segments and identify revenue-generating opportunities. 
  • Outline and distribute proposals for themed shows, content series, and in-studio sponsorship opportunities.   


Job Requirements

Key Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Two to three years related experience with a focus on sales, marketing or project management
  • General knowledge and understanding of the industry and local market
  • Understanding of new business prospecting and cold-calling, including script development and email correspondence.
  • Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization and time management.
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work across departments effectively
