Job Description

WTIC/WCCT seeks an IT professional to oversee a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network while having the technical leadership skillsets applicable in a multi-platform distribution environment. Responsibilities include the ability to deploy, configure, document, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment to ensure smooth network operation.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will have advanced trouble-shooting and specialized maintenance skills that are applicable in multi-platform operations, including but not limited to broadcast, mobile and desktop.

  • Proactively ensure that WCCT-WTIC/TEGNA maintains a healthy and secure server and workstation environment. 
  • Coordinates technical processes and serves as an escalation point in providing direction in the diagnosis and repair of broadcast, production, and IT systems.
  • Resolve problems and document resolutions. 
  • Responsible for the installation, documentation, and life-cycle maintenance of all multi-platform equipment including PCs, servers, and LANs. 
  • Responsible for local inventory maintenance and software license management. 
  • Provides escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence (server, NAS, network or PC equipment failure), including data backup recovery. 
  • Performs complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches and re-installations. 
  • Serves as the IT point of contact and accountable for the IT portion of new office setups, office expansions, etc. This includes relocation and/or installation of voice/data communications solutions, LAN and PC equipment. 
  • Participates in the identification, development and communication of new technology standards and best practices as appropriate for all business units. 
  • Responsible for monitoring data backups to ensure that they are completed on a regular basis. 
  • Duties may require non-routine analysis, research and follow-through. 


Job Requirements

  • College degree, or technical school training, with minimum 3 years of experience with Microsoft operating systems for desktops, and servers or applicable experience.
  • Three years of demonstrated experience with server and/or end-user computing orchestration, management and monitoring toolsets including SCCM, Splunk, CrowdStrike and mobile device management platforms. Cloud experience a plus.
  • Expert computer skills.  Microsoft and Cisco Certifications a plus. 
  • Experience with VMWare, DOM, AD, Group Policy deployment.
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to manage media technology projects. 
  • Demonstrated sensitivity in handling confidential information. 
  • Can successfully communicate technical information in a non-technical manner and provide excellent customer service to station employees.
  • Knowledge of broadcast tools such as ENPS, Wide Orbit, Crispin Automation, Miranda Graphics, and BitCentral Editing, are a plus.   
  • Experience leading all aspects of a project from inception to planning to implementation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of service desk concepts and toolsets including ITIL, knowledge management, and ServiceNow.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple complex tasks/projects and follow through to completion independently or as part of a team.
