Job Description


WKYC has an opening for an IT Professional who has technical experience with media oriented technologies including a strong understanding of content management systems and remote operations support. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active equipment in order to ensure smooth daily operations.  Additionally, a stellar performer will have a problem solving/solutions oriented mentality with the desire to learn, and will practice perseverance with trouble-shooting to ensure that ongoing problems and general maintenance are managed effectively and efficiently.  Daily responsibilities include:​



  • Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade servers and equipment
  • Ensure network security and connectivity
  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency); test for weaknesses and develop solutions
  • Specify system requirements and design solutions
  • Research and make recommendations on server systems
  • Protect station network and equipment from IT risk, including malware, viruses, and other similar threat
  • 2 years of experience providing system and desktop administration support, including analysis, installation and maintenance support.
  • A background in Windows Active Directory environment with Windows 7 clients and Windows Server 2012 & 2008.
  • Knowledge of information technology security best practices for 
    server and desktop environments.
  • Knowledge of Cisco switches/routers and broadcast video editing systems desirable.
  • This job requires interaction with many people. Must be able to communicate and get along well with others.​

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 3 to 5 years related experience in a multi-platform IT environment
  • Experience with Broadcast Automation, Graphics, Editors, Switchers, Routers, Audio Consoles, etc.
  • Hands on experience with networking, routing and switching; Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN's remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of broadcast infrastructure
  • Excellent project management skills with proven experience managing media technology projects
  • Demonstrated sensitivity in handling confidential information
  • Can successfully communicate technical information in a non-technical manner
