Job Description

​5 On Your side is looking for an Investigative Producer.  We need a curious journalist who can research, write and help create stories that change St. Louis. This producer collaborates with other investigative team members to  produce compelling and impactful investigative stories by providing expertise in the data collection and analysis that turn a character-driven narrative for a impactful investigation.  A passion for storytelling is a must. 

 

Primary responsibilities are:

  • Enterprise investigative stories with the KSDK Investigative team that expose societal/systematic problems important to our community
  • Request public data and documents using federal, state and local open records laws
  • Analyze that data and find the story inside that data
  • Brainstorm ways to visualize a compelling and impactful story using that data for online, on TV and in social media platforms
  • Work with members of the team to fact check all reporting on all platforms prior to publication/air
