Job Description

The TEGNA IT Infrastructure team represents a wide range of technologies and competencies. Working in tandem with peers, other teams, departments, business units and outside vendors, the team assists in the evaluation, implementation and support of technology solutions toward business objectives. The lead analyst in this position will lead in the design, implementation and support of on premise components and core business application migrations to multiple public cloud platforms. 

​The candidate will be responsible for the overall maintenance and management of an established enterprise virtual infrastructure with core and business unit clusters in a centralized management environment.  This includes a comprehensive knowledge of the server, storage and networking components required to maintain and support the existing environment. The candidate will also assist team members in the analysis and feasibility of existing on premise applications for public cloud consumption.  

 Responsibilities:

  • ​​Design and implement server and storage components for on premise and public cloud. 
  • Directly collaborate with the team to formulate and execute a cloud strategy for existing legacy on premise applications and future requirements. 
  • Provides in-depth technical consultation and communication to internal customers, including both IT and non-IT management, to ensure development and implementation of systems solutions are utilizing established standards, procedures and methodologies. 
  • Lead the design, building, testing, documentation and implementation of systems management practices associated with Virtualization/Storage/Networking to include security, performance monitoring and capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, problem management, operational management and change management.
  • Technical liaison between IT and application/IT teams across business units. 
  • Manage and execute special projects. 
  • Resolve problems and document resolutions.
  • React to changes positively, handle other essential tasks as assigned, and productively challenge the status quo as appropriate.

 

Job Requirements

Here's what you need:

  • ​Four-year technical degree preferred, but not required with 10+ years of data center infrastructure experience. 
  • 7+ years design & implementation experience of enterprise core infrastructure components to include Virtualization, Storage technologies, and Networking.  
  • Experience with on premise to cloud migrations or IT transformations.
  • Experience architecting/operating solution builds using cloud technologies.
  • Experience leading all aspects of a project from inception to planning to implementation.
  • Experience with automation tasks using scripting languages including Windows Scripting, PowerShell, Python a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple complex tasks/projects and follow through to completion independently or as part of a team.
  • As a member of a service organization, ability to effectively communicate technical topics to various levels of internal customers and outside business partners.  Interact with customers with empathy and in a mature and pleasant manner.
  • Ability to think analytically and solve problems creatively.



 Here's what you need:

 

 

  • ​​Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or an applicable analytical field of study.

 

  • 2 to 5 years of analytical experience in a finance role, operations or any related analytical role.

 

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and strong modeling skills.

 

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently

 

  • Ability to effectively solve problems and address opportunities.

 

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively in a fast-paced environment

 

  • Strong attention to detail, goal oriented and results focused, and the ability to process transactions while meeting tight deadlines

 

  • Maintain a professional presence with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

  • Experience with Tableau, WideOrbit and Salesforce desired.​
