NEWS CENTER Maine is looking for a highly-organized Marketing Coordinator to work alongside our Marketing Team based in Portland, Maine. The Marketing Coordinator will provide marketing, sales, and brand planning for the largest media company in the state of Maine. The role performs a wide range of duties while interacting with a broad variety of professional disciplines. A keen sense of creative marketing judgment and initiative is required. In addition to the professional skills listed, our ideal candidate will be highly-motivated, team oriented and have a positive can-do attitude that is always willing to learn new skills.


Marketing Coordinator


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and schedule incoming project requests coming through the marketing department
  • Field questions about projects and production in a timely manner with a high-level of expertise
  • Coordinate projects and workload with contract employees as needed
  • Facilitate the content and distribution of communication amongst all departments including sales, digital, news content, community relations, programming and clients when applicable
  • Proof and review work for errors and branding consistency prior to release
  • Attend all marketing, sales and news content meetings to stay in-step with the needs and priorities of the organization
  • Assist in external media buys and advertising including digital, social, and print
  • Provide design and basic editing support on branding and sales initiatives
  • Work with Director of Marketing to research, synthesis, and update audience deep dive reports using simple, clean, and easy to understand design
  • Monitor marketing industry news and submit reports on emerging trends to marketing team each month

Job Requirements

Requirements Position Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate has an interest in broadcast and digital media, advertising, public relations and/or marketing communications
  • Experience in design, production, digital advertising, social media and/or multi-platform solutions preferred
  • Knowledge of Adobe CC Suite, specifically: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, and/or After Effects and must be able to show examples of work
  • Proficient use in social media platforms and ad placement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye for details
  • Must be a self-starter, comfortable with constant evolution
  • Must be a team player, comfortable working in a highly-collaborative environment
  • Open, honest communication skills and willingness to give and receive constructive feedback are essential to ensuring success
