JOB DESCRIPTION:

WMAZ-TV, the TEGNA station, in Macon, Georgia has an immediate opening for a full-time Media Operations Specialist.  The Media Operations Specialist performs a variety of studio and control room responsibilities.  The job involves operating master control, running audio for newscasts and assisting with production of locally produced content. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operating audio board and camera controls during newscasts
  • Managing playlists, ingesting media, and switching commercial breaks during live programming
  • Monitoring live shots from the field during newscasts
  • Recording content for playback
  • Overseeing the station's on-air signal in accordance with FCC regulations
  • Operating cameras and other equipment on various remote productions
  • Editing content on non-linear edit systems
  • Other duties as assigned​

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be dependable, well organized and able to perform quickly under pressure of live television production
  • Able to learn and adapt to new technologies including IT based video production and broadcast systems
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications required
  • The position involves working various shifts including weekends, early mornings or evenings as part of a regular schedule​
