Job Description

​WUSA-TV, the TEGNA owned CBS affiliate in Washington, DC, seeks a talented and innovative Media Strategist to join our dynamic sales team. The Media Strategist will possess a clear understanding of how to unlock client insights and deploy successful and inspiring strategies utilizing Tegna’s Marketing assets and solutions. You will develop strategies centered on consumer needs and behaviors, integrated communications plans and messaging strategies that assure all channels are working together to ensure we meet client goals and deliver an excellent client experience. ​


• Inspire confidence in clients through clear communication of developed materials and recommendations

•  Analyze client research to uncover key insights that serve as the foundation for strategic efforts

• Acts as a solutions advisor to AE's in determining client KPI's and optimize solutions

•  Collaborate with internal teams to develop comprehensive strategic solutions

• Monitor trends and insights related to consumers, clients, competitors and industries

•  Build high-level comprehensive marketing presentations that guide a strategy across multiple media platforms

•  Be an active participant on the team that supports all strategic efforts ​

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in media strategy
  • Design and Analytical skills
  • Excellent knowledge of both Broadcast and Digital platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced collaborative environment under tight deadlines
  • Extensive initiative-taking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Photoshop, Salesforce
  • Process oriented with a desire for continuous improvement of processes and efforts
  • Energetic, positive attitude, and a strong work ethic
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Other duties as assigned​
