Job Description

WCSH NEWS CENTER Maine, the powerhouse #1 TEGNA owned NBC station in beautiful downtown Portland is looking for a Meteorologist. 

The right candidate is creative on air and on Social Media but has a deep passion for the science of weather. Maine lives and dies by its weather forecasts. Maine’s top industries are tourism, lobstering and agriculture; each deeply dependent on today’s weather and climate over the long term.

You should be self-motivated, a team player, and someone who takes pride in delivering smart, engaging weather reports across all platforms.

If you can play pond hockey, that’s a big plus.

Job Requirements

 

Requirements:

A degree in the field of meteorology/atmospheric sciences and be working toward or have a CBM.

The successful candidate must also have the skills and abilities to report LIVE from hurricanes, nor’easters and ice storms.

You should also be able to shoot, write and edit unique stories on the science of our environment.
