Job Description

TEGNA Commercial Operations (TCO) is searching for a highly motivated individual to assist with the management and entry of multi-market orders across all TEGNA stations.  This candidate must be extremely detailed, have outstanding organizational skills and be able to problem solve under tight deadlines.  Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form are critical to the success of this candidate.  This position reports directly to TCO Director and will assist in the planning and execution of new campaigns.   

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the entry of multi-market orders with high level of accuracy while providing exceptional customer service to clients, agencies and TEGNA stakeholders
  • Ensure all orders follow standardized TEGNA coding for accurate corporate reporting
  • Maintain order revisions such as add to schedules, cancellations, makegoods, etc.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local station and agency contacts
  • Coordinate communication to local station contacts and TNS for new or revised orders
  • Coordinate communication to local copy coordinators with traffic instructions for each campaign
  • Assist in confirming commercial copy from all delivery systems, FTP and outside sources
  • Work closely with TCO Directors to assure accuracy, continuity and meeting log/sales deadlines
  • Become proficient on all selling platforms including WideOrbit Traffic, WideOrbit Media Sales, WideOrbit Connect, etc.
  • Create analysis on campaigns to determine clearance trends, avails by station, sell out percentages, revenue reporting, etc.
  • Provide agency and/or TEGNA Stakeholders with pre and post logs
  • Communicate with finance hub to request new advertiser and agency profile set-up
  • Serve as liaison between stations and TCO as WO Traffic subject matter expert for station assistants and Account Managers

  • Strong inter-office, inter-department relations

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of account engagement in a professional, fast paced sales environment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills are a must
  • Ability to effectively solve problems with sense of urgency
  • Creative and able to adapt quickly to change
  • Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization and time management
  • Proficient with computer software/applications, including Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word and Excel
  • WideOrbit traffic system knowledge (preferred)
