Job Description

​​Want to be part of a bold, innovative production team? WFAA is seeking a creative, multi-faceted, and experienced Part Time Studio Production Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating studio production equipment including robotic cameras, handheld cameras, jib, studio lights and lighting control, microphones and related audio equipment. If you have experience running handheld cameras, especially the MOVI camera system, this is the job for you. Ideal candidates must be able to multi-task and remain cool under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • ​​​​Responsible for the creative and successful operation of handheld camera system during daily live programming
  • Responsible for the successful functioning and operation of studio and related equipment during live and/or recorded segments
  • Act as stage manager or other related duties as assigned by control room personnel
  • Re-position and/or troubleshoot robotic studio cameras as instructed by control room personnel
  • Set up and operate related studio equipment in outdoor or remote settings as directed by control room or remote personnel

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • ​​​Minimum 2-3 years experience as camera operator or studio technician in medium to major market
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully operate and troubleshoot MOVI camera system
  • College degree in media production or related field preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate with fellow emplyees, supervisors, and control room personnel in a variety of live and/or recorded situations
  • Must demonstrate a general artistic ability including design, balance, composition, and lighting
