Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

WXIA is seeking an enterprising storyteller to join our award-winning team.  The position requires strong photojournalism skills with a commitment to lighting, sequencing and use of sound.  Qualified candidate must be able to shoot and edit a variety of stories under deadline.  Must be able to produce stories individually as well as a team.  Candidate will be expected to develop digital content daily on multiple platforms and should have strong social media presence and engagement.  Individual must be a team player with strong communication skills.   At WXIA we place a special emphasis on strong storytelling and investigative journalism.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to produce stories daily under deadline pressure.
  • Must have strong production and non-linear editing skills, experience with EDIUS is a plus.
  • Must be able to operate ENG, SNG and Live cellular units for live remotes.
  • Attend editorial meetings, participate in discussions and pitch story ideas.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Creating and editing digital content

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4+ years’ experience in photojournalism
  • Journalism/Mass Communication degree preferred
  • Applicant must be flexible with their schedules, reliable and dependable.
  • Must be able to lift and move at least 50lbs.
  • Current driver license and excellent driving history required.
