Job Description

​TEGNA owned KUSA-TV has an excellent opportunity for a talented Producer/Correspondent to create content (live and/or recorded) for daily talk show "Colorado & Company," and social media platforms. Producing will make up the majority of your job responsibilities, with on-camera work on an "as assigned" basis.​ ​ ​

Responsibilities

  • Work with advertisers and guests to create elevated sponsored content and produce those segments for the daily show. 
  • Work directly with a multitude of clients in a positive and professional way.
  • Create and front sponsored and original content as assigned.
  • Construct show rundowns, and stacking/blocking of the program
  • Interface daily with various sales department personnel and COCO team members. 
  • Help manage and coordinate in studio guests and clients as well as assists in production during live program in the control room, on set or in the field.
  • Create content for social media and digital platforms on a daily basis.
  • Must be knowledgeable on marketing/advertising trends and popular culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Essential Daily Functions:

  • Work the hours based on your assigned scheduled. Scheduled hours may vary from time to time depending on assignments. In those cases your supervisor will notify you of changes.
  • Attend and contribute to daily CO & CO morning pre show meetings. Help manage and coordinate in studio guests and assist production crew during live program. Attend daily post-show and planning meetings. Create and write digital content daily.
  • Works closely with Executive Producer and other segment producers daily.
  • Responsible for coordinating and execution of "live" reports or taped packages as assigned. 
  • Must be up to date on Denver happening and community interest stories. ​

 

Job Requirements

  • College degree
  • Valid driver's license
  • Minimum 4-5 years producing experience in a television market. Experience in lifestyle and/or live programming a plus. 
  • Minimum 2 years on-camera experience.
  • Must have excellent verbal and writing abilities: will conduct phone interviews and face-to-face pre interviews with guests.  Experience in advertorial writing a plus. 
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure with assigned deadlines
  • Ability to interact productively and positively with fellow employees
  • Experience with remote camera (ex: TVU/LIVE U)
  • Should have good communications skills on and off the air
  • Ability to operate a variety of production software such as Photoshop and Adobe Creative Cloud a plus
  • Should have a solid understanding of on-air production techniques in the control room and studio, as well as in the field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of social media​
