Job Description

KUSA / KTVD-TV, 9NEWS Denver has been home to employees for decades, who have dedicated their careers to serving the Coloradoan community and who demonstrate an urgent, passionate and unmatched commitment to lead and revolutionize information delivery across all platforms. We are looking for a Producer, a game changer, to work on a show unlike anything else on our air.

We're not looking for someone who can fill a run down, we're looking for someone with a proven ability to find and create unique content with real personality. Are you a journalist who wants to innovate and wants to produce more than a traditional broadcast news program? Are you ready for something new and exciting? If so, this opportunity is calling your name.

If you are tied to timing bar, you don’t need to apply. If you use a lot of wire copy, this isn’t the job for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Great content writer - we aren’t looking for people who are prone to using “clinging to life” or” totally destroyed”. If you write teases that start with “coming up…” apply somewhere else.
  • Shooting and editing- these skills are a big plus.
  • Social media superstar- you must love social media and know how to use it effectively and creatively. Retweeting is not a skill.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Must be creative and see things differently. We do not want to cover fires, car accidents, and pumpkin shortages unless there’s true news value or humor
  • College Degree in related field
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong journalism background
  • A sense of humor and a sense of empathy
