Job Description

Do you enjoy creating connections and being out in the community? Want to learn what it takes to make a brand successful? Are you outgoing, engaging, and creative? If, then this might be an opportunity for you! We are looking for Summer Interns for in Radio Promotions. 

TEGNA is a large, public media company with a portfolio that includes 47 stations located in 39 markets as well as 2 radio stations. KFMB in San Diego is home to 2 the radio stations (100.7 KFM-BFM & AM 760) as well as 2 television stations (CBS News 8 & The CW San Diego). 

Our paid internship program gives students an opportunity to gain work experience by working alongside our “roadies” street team, coordinating and attending promotional events and interacting with our audiences via social media. Additionally, our internship program provides students with an opportunity to explore career paths across TEGNA. Participants will gain valuable real-world experience and have a chance to build a network with our leaders. Come join us in the adventure!

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Degree-seeking student currently enrolled at a college or university; preference is for juniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who will be rising seniors during their internship summer
  • Must possess a current valid driver's license and be able to provide proof of current automobile insurance
  • Ability to lift 30-40 lbs.
  • Strong social media skills
  • Desire to work flexible hours, including some weekends/evenings and/or holidays
  • Must be available some evenings and weekends for events. A flexible schedule is required.
