Job Description

TEGNA is seeking a Revenue Analyst to work within the Sales Intelligence Team to support budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting for Broadcast TV. This person will work closely with the Pricing and Finance departments. This is a direct hire salaried role based in TEGNA’s corporate HQ in McLean, VA. This role is eligible for all company-wide benefits.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical decision support across sales and finance functions, including revenue modeling and ad hoc analysis to drive understanding of business performance and inform management decision making.
  • Maintain revenue modeling of TEGNA’s addressable market and advertising revenues.
  • Develop new analytical models to segment TEGNA’s advertising revenue to understand trends and business performance.
  • Integrate third party research and economic trends into TEGNA’s revenue modeling and regular reporting.
  • Streamline and automate reporting using BI tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Communicate key findings to a variety of stakeholders across corporate executive leadership team and TV Station senior leaders.
  • Assist in process improvement including improved utilization of resources, information management, knowledge sharing, and tools used across the Company.

Job Requirements

 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Finance or Accounting or related discipline; MBA a plus
  • 2-4+ years of financial planning, revenue or data analysis experience; within a broadcast company or technology department a plus
  • Excellent Excel skills, including MS Excel pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
  • Proficient with BI and data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, Domo etc; ability to learn new tools and functions through trial and error and other self-taught channels
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management
  • Ability to effectively interpret and simplify complex data and present executive summary information; expert critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Enthusiasm for data-driven storytelling
  • Highly organized and relentless attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities to successfully meet established timelines
  • Flexible personality with the ability to juggle multiple high priority projects
  • Works well independently and in teams
