JOB DESCRIPTION:

TEGNA is looking for someone with a unique blend of administrative, computer and sales support experience. This role is the linchpin that connects the Sales Organization to TEGNA's clients. The Sales Assistant is the primary support person for the WUSA9 staff. This position assists in all aspects of the sales process, including good stewardship of client business.​

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily interaction with existing agency and direct client business. This responsibility includes maintenance of client schedules, regular tracking of client audience delivery using Nielsen and Comscore ratings, developing presentations, merchandising the station and generally providing a high level of customer service.
  • Resolving discrepancies, posting reports in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates with other in-market TEGNA team to set up new customer accounts, contracts, order entry, and revisions.
  • Assists Sales Managers and Account Executives in the maintenance of contracts, order input, make goods, and overall service.
  • Entering client data and orders, revising and maintaining client orders (television and digital).
  • Provide overall support to the sales organization as needed. For instance, providing pre-sale and post-sale materials and other overall client service-oriented tasks. 
  • Assist the sales team with building package worksheets (Excel) and other various sales related duties. 

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 0-2 years of experience
  • College degree preferred
  • Data Entry Experience
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Excel. 
  • Extremely organized with an eye for detail
  • Multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivation and willingness to work as a team player are essential attributes. 
  • Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to change with our industry are also keys to success.
