Job Description

WXIA, a TEGNA company and the NBC affiliate in Atlanta, GA, is Looking for a segment producer for a Monday through Friday, live, one-hour talk show based in Atlanta, Georgia. Candidates must have at least five years of experience producing segments for talk shows. Must possess exceptional vision, creativity and editorial skills to produce compelling and engaging show segments. Additional requirements include prior experience working with high-profile talent and celebrities. Experience with booking guests and celebrities. Ability to talk with guests to help pinpoint the best ways in which they can enhance a segment. Strong research skills under intense deadline pressure. Be in the control room during your segment to assure on-air production of your segment. Participate in the digital life of your segment by writing and posting content that could play well on social media.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field
  • 5 plus years' of experience preferred, including supervision and leadership of other journalists
  • Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
  • Understanding the tenets of professional journalism
  • Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content
  • Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook
  • Knowledge of ENPS, Edius and Axis graphics a plus
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines
  • Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events
