Job Description

KSDK, Five on Your SIde, is looking for a Senior Producer of Investigations who will help lead a team of award winning journalists to create compelling stories, on air and on line, with wide impact.  Our hire will be a leader with curiosity, superior writing skills, stellar news judgement and an excellent production sense.

Responsibilities

Research, write, produce and collaborate on  wide ranging stories that affect the commui​ty.

Supervise, analyze and approve and  broadcast and digital material from other team members.

Be a conduit for appropriate legal supervision of all stories and for promotion of all pieces. 

Supervise and assign team members to research projects and stories.

Request, public data and documents using federal, state and local open records laws and assign others in the department to similar tasks.

Lead efforts to create compelling and innovative production techniques for stories.

Job Requirements

Requirements

BS/BA in Journalism or related field 

Five to 10 years experience in investigative journalism with proven track record of excellence

Strong abilities in computer assisted research, understanding of open records laws,and  efficient skills to request public data  

Follow all company and KSDK guidelines on ethical decision making​​

Superior sense of collaboration among team members and other members of the newsroom.

Understanding of newsroom computer system, editing systems.

​Background in shooting and editing preferred
