KARE 11, TEGNA's powerhouse NBC station in Minneapolis/St. Paul, is looking for a Social Media and On-Air Marketing Producer to recruit viewers for our 10 p.m. newscast and improve social media engagement with our users nightly. The Social Marketing Producer will attend editorial meetings, make recommendations for social media content creation, conceive and execute posts, and produce TV ads that will more effectively reach our target audiences for broadcast, digital, and social.  The ideal candidate is an avid news consumer with a mind for marketing. 

 Responsibilities

  • Work with 10 PM talent on building their authentic social presence and increase engagement
  • Assist in the creation of native social content for their platforms
  • Create professional level TV ads (for broadcast, reformat for IG/Facebook Stories)
  • Create organic social campaigns to generate conversation around 10p show content 
  • Facilitate and monitor day-to-day livestreams, be able to translate that information into content
  • Respond in real-time to audience messages and comments
  • Create and curate IG Stories similar to Sunrise 
  • Create and post edited images, video and/or audio elements packaged for each KARE 11 social platform
  • Monitor social chatter and track trending stories via Chartbeat, Crowdtangle, Google Trends, Reddit and our social platforms. Communicate findings to newsroom.
  • Track and report social analytics
  • Adapting scripts and web stories to an authentic social voice

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of various social platforms and their advertising options – must be a native, frequent consumer of social content!
  • Experience in conversation-generating content creation
  • Creative writing and video production skills are a must
  • Track record of driving brand awareness, audience growth, reach, and engagement using organic and paid social media
  • Incredible eye for detail
  • Solid editorial and social media judgment
  • Fluency in social metrics and analytics tools
  • Natural sense of curiosity and willingness to experiment. Not afraid to push new concepts.
  •  Must be organized with the ability to work under constant time press
  • High Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Video editing experience 
  • Video shooting experience a plus
  • Paid media experience a plus
  • 1-2 years experience
