Job Description

9NEWS, KUSA/KTVD-TV, a TEGNA Media company, is looking for a full-time temporary Sports Photojournalist who will have the opportunity to cover a wide range of sports with an emphasis on prep and college activities. This position will begin asap and end on January 31, 2020.


  • This position requires excellent photojournalism skills
  • Applicants should have good news judgment, strong writing skills, photography experience and non-linear editing skills.  
  • Strong storyteller who can produce and enterprise original content live on-air and online.
  • Interviews appropriate people to cover general sports news stories.
  • Contacts sources and develops news stories.
  • Shoots, writes scripts, edits stories and will be asked to report stories on-air.
  • Contributes story ideas and attends story news conferences.
  • Develops stories assigned by the assignment desk.
  • Writes, edits and posts video and text content stories for website
  • Must be able to operate ENG and Live cellular units for live remotes.
  • SNG experience helpful

Job Requirements


  • Flexible Schedules depending on sports schedules and game times        
  • Minimum 2-5 years reporting/photojournalism experience. 
  • Journalism and/or Mass Communication degree preferred.
