Job Description

​TEGNA is looking for a Sr Manager, Consumer Analytics Platform to join our Data and Insights team.  The Data and Insights team works on projects that harness the power of data and drive business teams to make operational and strategic decisions based on insights from that data.  As a member of this team, you will play a key role in building industry-leading data solutions that have a substantial impact on the overall organization’s operations, products, and processes.​

​• Design and build a Consumer Analytics Platform 
• Own all aspects of the analytics platform - tag setup and maintenance, data collection and integration, reporting and dashboards, visualization, advanced analytics, and insights (AI)
• Assess various external data and analytics solutions that can help enhance the consumer analytics platform 
• Work collaboratively with business units to assess needs, and implement solutions as part of the Consumer analytics platform
• Define KPIs and create dashboards and reports to communicate results
• Identify datasets across the organization that can be leveraged by various teams
• Own all processes, tools, and resources required to support the consumer analytics platform
• Manage direct reports and work with matrix project delivery teams
• Set up a self-service BI marketplace for business and operations team


Job Requirements

​Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• A minimum of 7 years experience building and maintaining data solutions at scale 
• Experience in building Data Management Platforms 
• Product minded: you obsess about building high-quality, intuitive products
• Experience in Architecting large scale/complex systems
• Led a multi-disciplinary team of Reporting/ETL/Visualization/QA engineers
• Experience with Deterministic and Probabilistic Data 
• Experience working with 3rd party teams to take a project from concept to life
• Strong implementation track record; Have experience building and managing teams 
• Proficiency working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
• Experience with one or more MPP databases (Redshift, Bigquery, Snowflake, etc)
• Experience with one or more ETL tools (Informatica, Pentaho, SSIS, Talend, etc)
• Experience with one or more reporting tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Looker, etc)
 
Desired:
• Experiences in working in the TV and media industry is a big plus
• Cloud computing, machine learning, AI models, NLP experience is a plus
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience with Apache Spark / Hadoop / Databricks
