We offer competitive compensation and benefits and are searching for innovative people to join our teams.                                          The Junior Level Engineer will possess and apply their knowledge of civil/mining/environmental engineering to assist with the completion of challenging assignments. Assist with civil, mining, oil and gas, and environmental projects in accordance with appropriate state and federal regulations. Tasks will involve design of mine reclamation plans, site development (including erosion and sediment control and post-construction storm-water control plans), engineering studies and designs related to civil, mining, oil and gas, and environmental projects throughout PA, OH, and WV. Knowledge of geology, rock mechanics or geo-technical engineering is a plus.

Essential duties and responsibilities will include:

•Assist with preparation of plans, permits, designs and reports such as: mine reclamation plans, erosion and sediment control design, post-construction storm-water management, mining and oil and gas permitting.
•Preparation of engineering design analysis reports.
•Assist with environmental field data collection and site investigations
•Some overnight travel to locations within the continental United States may be required

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:  Minimum of 3 years’ experience required.  Bachelors (B.S.) or Master’s Degree (M.S.) in Civil, Mining or Environmental Engineering or a related area. Engineer-in-Training certificate is required, or Professional Engineer license is desired. Experience with planning, design, and soil erosion and sediment controls using TR-55 methodology including use of related computer programs such as HEC-RAS, and other similar programs is required. Good knowledge of CAD or Carlson software preferred.

Other Skills, Abilities and Requirements: Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software required; knowledge of computer-based engineering design software desirable. Must be able to work effectively with other technical professionals.

Assisting field investigation and construction oversight activities could potentially require the following: Performing strenuous fieldwork under a variety of site and weather conditions; facilitate operation of equipment and collecting samples; moving earth via shovels or hand augers; lifting of pumps, other remediation equipment, cases containing equipment, sample coolers and other items weighing between 1 and 50 pounds; and potential exposure to natural (e.g., poison ivy) and chemical hazards.  Must be able and available for travel and possess a valid driver's license in good standing.  Must have ability to perform and maintain rigorous detailed documentation of field activities.

Ability to read, research, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents and procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedures suitable for submission to the client.  Ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from groups of coworkers, clients, customers, and the general public. Effective communication skills, both orally and in written form.

MSHA 40-hour training and current 8-hour refresher training is also preferred.
