Construction Laborer- BAS

Job Description

Tetra Tech BAS has several openings for a Laborer in the Construction Remediation Department.  Must be reliable and able to do heavy labor work while meeting the health and safety regulations and requirements.


• High school diploma or Equivalent G.E.D. certification.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a construction laborer.
• Understand environmental and health & safety regulations and have previous experience working at sites regulated by Cal-OSHA.
• Perform system construction activities in a safe and proper manner.
• Always be conscientious and aware of unsafe or potential hazardous conditions when working onsite to avoid injury or incident
• Prior experience working around heavy construction equipment desired.
• Maintain, clean, and organize equipment and supplies.
• Travel for extended periods, if necessary. 
• Walk long distances and stand in uneven terrain as well as work in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions and must follow safety guidelines.
• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis.
• Always work with at least one other site worker (buddy system) unless unique circumstances
• Pass a company paid, baseline health physical and drug screening, if required.
• Complete the USEPA HAZWOPR, 40-hour, environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher classes.
• Provide a pro-active approach to project completion and client needs.
• Ability to obtain, and keep in good standing, a valid driver’s license in California.
• Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Able to wear protective gear such as a full-face respirator
